Cherici’s anthology of music published by Petrucci (1466 -1539) in Italian tablature for six-course lute ‘in vieil ton’ (or ‚Renaissance tuning‘) provides the lute player with a fine selection of early sixteenth -century music in a very clear print, free from page turns and well edited. … There is much enjoyment to be had from Cherici’s tastefully compiled anthology and, like all Ut Orpheus publications, it is a well presented and elegant volume, with the text in both Italian and English.
