Cuerdas de Tripa Frechina – single gut strings – Darmsaiten (einzeln) – cordes de boyau
Frechina strings are authentic gut strings manufactured in Paris since 2009. They are not bleached, which is why they retain their natural colour. It is therefore possible to appreciate the strong twist of each string, allowing for high flexibility. Newly introduced Frechina double-twists allow for an outstanding flexibility for, for instance, Renaissance viola da gamba, violone en sol, violin, double bass. They are handmade and calibrated using a high-precision mechanical process. They can be considered unvarnished although covered with a thin layer of varnish to protect them from variations in humidity without altering the sound, which remains clear and open. The adhesion and cohesion of the silver thread in the wounded strings are guaranteed.
