Brass Tacks
is equally effective played al fresco or in the concert hall. Its bright, scherzando manner, weaving brash fanfares and rippling, toccata-like material into a compact structure for brass quintet, makes it an ideal concert opener, or a leavening element within a programme of more earnest and extended works for the ensemble.
