Michel Frechina – Lamb gut strings
Frechina strings are authentic lamb gut strings, handcrafted in Paris since 2009.
They are made by hand and calibrated using a high-precision mechanical process. All our strings are coated with a thin layer of varnish (which can be considered as unvarnished) to protect them from humidity variations without altering their clear and open sound. They are not bleached and retain their natural color. Their visible twist is strong (except for chanterelles, which have a lower twist), allowing for great flexibility.
The new Frechina double-twist strings offer exceptional flexibility. These strings are supple, rich in harmonics, and powerful. They are particularly suitable for gut-stringed instruments (e.g., Renaissance viol, G-violone, violin, double bass, etc.).
Frechina wound strings are hand-wound with silver (or copper) wire. The adhesion and cohesion of the silver winding on the strings are guaranteed.
