Consonance is the result of a bike ride in London and the discovery of the house where Charles Gounod stayed in 1870. In response to Gounod’s famous Méditation from 1853, Lidström has supplied a new melodic line on top Johann Sebastian Bach’s original keyboard score. Material from Chopin’s E minor piano concerto proved a perfect fit to Bach’s harmony.
