The main sources used for this Revised Augener edition are the first French editions published in Paris by Schlesinger (Impromptus nos. 1 and 3) and Troupenas (Impromptus no. 2). The Fantaisie op. 49 is based on a Schlesinger edition of 1841 and the Fantasie-Impromptu on that of Maissonier Fils (Paris 1855) with emendations from the autographed fair copy (1835) referred to in the Introduction. The first Augener edition was published in London in 1893.
